“Sportsmanship for me is when a guy walks off the court and you really can’t tell whether he won or lost, when he carries himself with pride either way.” ~Jim Courier

Code of Conduct

You may ask, “Why is a Code of Conduct necessary for the games of basketball or soccer?” And with D&D Athletics it makes all the difference. Our goal is not to only train your child to be the BEST athlete, but to also maintain the BEST character he or she can have on and off the court/field. We want to set the standard of behavior for each camper of D&D Athletics so all players: 1) enjoy their experience of playing sports; 2) improve their strengths and weaknesses daily as athletes; 3) learn to assist their teammates to improve and turn any weaknesses into strengths; and 4) to represent themselves, coaches, and parents exceptionally well. Every D&D player must, at all times:
  • Play for their enjoyment (i.e. not to make their coaches or parents happy).
  • Be encouraging and supportive of all teammates.
  • Be coachable (i.e. willing to accept constructive criticism from their coaches).
  • Push themselves to give better than their best. (i.e. train with 100% commitment, intensity, focus, and discipline).
  • Hold themselves, their teammates, and their coaches accountable for their actions on and off the court/field
  • Play each game with the success of the team in mind (i.e. by playing unselfishly).
  • Play with integrity, composure, and self-discipline.
  • Apply and execute what they learn in practice during a game (and life, as it applies).
  • Be willing to work hard for and earn their success on and off the court/field.
  • Respect referees and officials by accepting calls graciously;
  • Show good sportsmanship by interacting with referees, officials, opponents and opposition coaches with professionalism and respect (i.e. by offering a hand to help opponents up from the floor after a foul is given, and by shaking the hands of all opposition players at the end of each game (with eye contact).
  • Respect all equipment, venues, and facilities they train or play at.
Special Note – D&D Athletics reserves the right to not train your child if they are unable to adhere to the code of conduct with no refund remitted.
